Development of an electrical control structure for the analysis of 640-lbs cheese blocks
The challenge put to Coprodev was to come up with a means to analyze the dimensions of the cheese block and configure accordingly the machinery thus optimizing the cheese cutting process.
The system developed by Coprodev includes a central PLC including a microprocessor that does the necessary calculations (using C programming language). The information on the dimensions of the cheese block is routed to the microprocessor using a laser measurement tool and ultrasonic sensors.
The whole process is linked to a multi-axe motor control system that enables the precise adjustment of the cutting instruments to within 1/1000th of an inch.
